About the event
Kanadia return to their hometown of Oxford to release their highly anticipated second album 'June'. The new album is a follow up to their 2019 self-titled debut which was launched to a sold out O2 Academy Oxford. Kanadia return with an album that is larger and darker than ever.
Conceptualised around personal and long-lived battles with mental health. 'June' is themed around moments of introspection, fear, anger and despair all juxtaposed against the large stadium-sized reverb drenched rock that Kanadia are building a reputation for.
The album will be performed in its entirety along with tracks new and old. The new album will be available on Deluxe Vinyl at the show along with a band signing. Support comes good friends from Bedd and Juniper Nights. Bedd is a musical project lead by singer, songwriter and producer Jamie Hyatt, Jamie is a longstanding Oxford musician known for his previous bands The Family Machine, The Daisies and Medal as well as his score for the film Elstree 1976. Alongside Jamie, bedd is made up by a range of celebrated local Oxford musical talents including bandmates from his previous project The Family Machine in the shape of bass player Darren Fellerdale and guitarist Neil Durbridge. Also, in the mix are guitarist Tom Sharp, electronic musician and producer Tim Midlen, also known as The Mancles of Acid, and drummer Sam Spacsman.
Juniper Nights are an Oxford-based alternative rock band formed in 2017 by James Gallagher and Zach Wilmott. By harnessing the energy of grunge bands such as Pearl Jam, NIN, and Nirvana, and drawing inspiration from cinematic pioneers such as The National, Beck, and Frank Ocean, Juniper Nights have developed a powerful and unique sound once described by Jammerzine magazine as "sonic bliss of David Lynchian proportions". Juniper Nights have established themselves as a formidable act and promise to deliver an explosive live show.
